DDU PhD Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for PhD admission at Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gorakhpur University, candidates must meet the following criteria.

• A 2-year/4-semester master’s degree program after a 3-year bachelor’s degree program, or an equivalent qualification, with at least 55% marks in aggregate (50% for SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PWD candidates).or

• Candidates with an M.Phil. degree with at least 55% marks (50% for reserved categories) are also eligible.

DDU PhD Admission Selection Procedure

The selection process for PhD admission involves two main steps.

• Research Entrance Test (RET): The RET consists of 70 multiple-choice questions, each carrying one mark. Candidates must score at least 50% (45% for reserved categories) to qualify for the interview. Download Phd PYQ

• Duration of PhD Program: The minimum duration is three years, including coursework, and the maximum duration is six years from the date of admission.

• Coursework: All research scholars, including full-time, part-time, and international students, must complete the pre-PhD coursework.

• Part-Time PhD: Candidates must have at least five years of continuous service experience in a recognized organization and submit a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their employer.

• International Research Scholars: Each supervisor can guide up to two international research scholars on a supernumerary basis.
