Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar University, Agra, is a state university located in Agra, Uttar Pradesh. Formerly known as Agra University, it was established in 1927. It is one of the oldest universities in India and offers a wide range of academic programs.

The applicant must submit the hard copy of the application form along with all relevant self-attested documents to the following address by speed post, courier, or by hand. The submission should be made by the last date.

DBRAU phd eligibility criteria

• Candidates for admission to the PhD programme shall have a Master’s degree with at least 55% marks in aggregate. A relaxation of 5% of marks for those belonging to SC/ST and Divyang as per the decision of the State Government. ( or)

• Candidates appearing in the final year Master’s degree program are also provisionally eligible for admission, but the final admission will be subject to the completion of a qualified Master's degree program. (Or)

• Candidates who have cleared the M.Phil. Courses with at least 55% marks in aggregate are also eligible to apply for phd admission in 2024.for more information, click here

DBRAU phd admission selection process

DBRAU PhD admission selection process is based on an entrance test, except for exempted categories, after inviting online applications through the Research Portal on the university website.

Exempted category

Provided that candidates from certain categories seeking admission to the Ph.D. program shall be exempt from the entrance test.

Regular Teachers of the University and its affiliated colleges.

• who qualify for the UGC/CSIR/ICAR Fellowship/Teacher fellowship.

• Candidates who have a GATE score of not less than 95 percentile.

• Serving Army, Navy and Air Force officers of at least Colonel or equivalent rank with not less

• than 15 years of service, applying for Ph.D. in Military Science.

• Candidates who have procured M.Phil. Degree with at least 55% marks from this University.

The application form must be filled out by exempted category students, but taking the test is optional for them. However, it is recommended that exempted category candidates take the written test so that they may have a claim in both ways (admission through the entrance test or under the exempted category).

Entrance test pattern

• The PhD entrance test will be OMR-based and held in a single sitting for 120 minutes. It will contain 100 objective questions, each carrying 1 mark.

• There will be no negative marking.

• The test will consist of 30 questions on research methodology and general aptitude and 70 questions on the chosen subject. The entrance test syllabus will be based on the NET/JRF examination of UGC/CSIR.

• The minimum qualifying mark for the Entrance Test is 50% (5% relaxation to SC/ST/Divyang)

• Scanned Signature in JPEG format (Maximum upload size is 50 KB only)

• Aadhar Card.

All original certificates have to be produced at the time of the interview or counselling to be held

before the coursework. Photocopies, internet copies and provisional degrees shall not be

considered.

Application application fee per subject for General and OBC categories is Rs. 2500/- and

for SC/ST and Divyang, Rs. 1250/-
