GJU Hisar PhD Eligibility Criteria
To qualify a Master's degree program, you must have completed a 4-year/8-semester Bachelor's degree program or a 2-year/4-semester Master's degree program in the relevant or allied subject. Additionally, you must have obtained at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST, OBC (BC-A & BC-B non-creamy layer), Differently-abled candidates with at least 40% disability, and Economically Weaker Section (EWS) of Haryana).
For Haryana School of Business: A Master's degree programme (1-year/2-semester Master degree after a 4-year/8-semester Bachelor’s degree programme or 2-year/4-semester Master degree after 3-year Bachelor’s degree programme) or Graduates with a Business Administration, Economics, Commerce, or allied subjects degree, two-year Post Graduate Diploma in Management, or those passing the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India final examination with 55% marks (50% for SC/ST, OBC (BC-A & BC-B non-creamy layer), Differently-abled candidates having at least 40% disability and Economically Weaker Section (EWS) of Haryana)
GJU Ph.D. admission selection process
The selection process for admission into the PhD program involves an Entrance Test followed by an Interview with the Admission Committee. The purpose of the interview is to evaluate the research abilities of the candidate. However, those who have qualified for national level tests such as UGC-NET/UGC-CSIR-NET/DBT/DST/ICMR/ASRB/GATE/GPAT (valid) and similar exams, UGC-National Fellowship for Schedule Caste/OBC students (NFSC/NFOBC)/HSCST-JRF (valid) with the qualified certificate with JRF award letter/Provisional DST Inspire Fellowship (one-year validity subject to the final offer of fellowship as per criteria of DST failing which admission to PhD shall be treated cancelled) are exempted from taking the Entrance Test. They must, however, attend the interview. The number of candidates called for an interview may vary depending on the number of available PhD seats in the department.
The PhD seats will be offered to the candidates on the following preferences
UGC-NET/UGC-CSIR-NET/DBT/DST/ICMR/ASRB/HSCST-JRF(valid).
The candidates having HSCST-JRF based on NET-LS, UGC-National Fellowship for Schedule Caste students/OBC students (NFSC/NFOBC)-JRF (valid) awarded only on the basis UGC/UGC-CSIR NET-JRF merit / DST Inspire Fellowship candidates.
The Candidates have Valid GATE/ GPAT score with Fellowship/Scholarship.
The seats remaining vacant shall be offered to the candidates qualifying Entrance Test for the admission to Ph.D. to be conducted as per the schedule notified by the University in the Winter Term. The syllabi of the Entrance Test will be decided by the concerned Teaching Departments/School. They will be based on research methodology and subject-specific core courses of the qualifying Post Graduate program. The department will upload the detailed syllabi on the University website for the convenience of the candidates.
Entrance Test will be of 100 marks and a candidate must secure 50% marks (45% marks for SC/ST, OBC (BC-A & BC-B non-creamy layer), Differently-abled candidates having at least 40% disability and Economically Weaker Section (EWS) of Haryana) to qualify the same.
Merit List preparation
In this section, I will discuss about to preparing PhD admission merit list for the final selection in the PhD program. The merit list for admission to Ph.D. The programme shall be prepared by the Department/School according to the following criteria.
A. For candidates exempted from the Entrance Test
40% weightage of marks in the Master’s Degree Examination
30% weightage of marks in the Bachelor’s Degree Examination
30% weightage of performance in Interview.
B. For the candidates Passing the Entrance Test.
30% weightage of marks in the Master’s Degree Examination.
20% weightage of marks in the Bachelor’s Degree Examination.
35% weightage of marks in the Entrance Test.
15% weightage of performance in Interview.
The admissions in Ph.D. The programme shall be made through separate counselling to be organized by the Department/School concerned for the candidates exempted from the Entrance Test and the candidates to be admitted through the Entrance Test as per the schedule mentioned in the Admission Information Brochure.

GJU Hisar university offers numerous fellowships and scholarships for research purposes. PhD students who meet the university's eligibility criteria may be eligible to receive a PhD fellowship or scholarship. UNIVERSITY RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP
UNIVERSITY RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP Every year, two fellowships will be awarded to each eligible Department. Upon confirmation of registration, the fellowship will amount to Rs. 15000/- per month and will be valid for two years from the date of admission or joining in the coursework. The fellowship may be extended for a third year at the discretion of the Vice-Chancellor, based on the recommendation of a committee comprised of the Chairperson, a Professor or Associate Professor from the department, and the Scholar's Supervisor.
In addition to the above, URF (six or 20% of the allocated URF in the academic session whichever is higher) will be allowed to SC candidates. Criteria for the selection/award of URF will be based on qualifying combined merit of admission for PhD programme. Please find below the revised version of the text
The contingency amount of Rs. 10000/- per annum may utilized for consumables, minor equipment, stationary, travel, and registration fees for attending conferences/seminars, workshops within India with the prior approval of the Chairperson of the Department on the recommendation of the Supervisor.

HSCST FELLOWSHIP PROGRAMME
The Haryana State Council for Science & Technology (HSCST) in Panchkula has recently launched a fellowship program for students pursuing a Ph.D. in science subjects. Fellowship recipients must hold an M.Sc. or equivalent degree, with a minimum of 55% marks based on their performance on the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by CSIR twice a year. The research fellowships cover a range of science subjects, including Life Science, Physical Science, Chemical Science, Mathematical Science, Engineering Science, and Earth Atmospheric Ocean & Planetary Sciences. The maximum period of the fellowship is five years, with an initial amount of Rs. 18000/- per month for the first two years and Rs. 21000/- per month for the 3rd year onwards. Additionally, the fellowship includes an annual contingency grant of Rs. 20000/-. It's important to note that any changes in the fellowship amount will be applicable from time to time.
