IGNTU phd eligibility Criteria
Candidates must have a Master’s degree with at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD/EWS candidates) or an equivalent grade from a recognized university.
For candidates with a 4-year/8-semester bachelor’s degree, a minimum of 75% marks (70% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD/EWS) is required.
IGNTUphd admission selection process
The selection process for admission into the PhD program involves an Entrance Test followed by an Interview with the Admission Committee
Entrance Test:
Admission to the PhD program is based on a National Level Entrance Test conducted by IGNTU. The test consists of 100 questions: 50% on research aptitude/methodology and 50% on subject-specific knowledge. Candidates must score at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD/EWS) to qualify for the interview. The entrance test score is valid for one year. . Interview

Other Important Notes
SC/ST/PWD and Kashmiri Migrant candidates are eligible for a 5% relaxation in marks in either the qualifying exam or the entrance test.
Candidates can pursue interdisciplinary research, subject to approval from the Departmental Research Committee (DRC).
IGNTU does not offer PhD programs through distance or online mode.
